clock-runningI think everyone has those moments in life where there simply isn’t enough time in the day to do everything you want and I’m certainly no exception. It seems that the problem has gotten worse lately and at times makes me want to pull my hair out.

I’ve been sticking to my one post a month goal for this blog but honestly I desire to write a lot more than that I just don’t have the time to do so. There is also the issue of not knowing what to talk about… my life has been relatively uneventful as of late and the few interesting things that do happen I’m a little reluctant to publicly discuss… I guess that’s what happens when you start to build even a remotely small online presence (which as much as I like to deny… I’m beginning to have). When strangers walk up to you at a tech convention i.e. the Big Android BBQ and tell you they love your site (extravagantGEEK.com) and look forward to seeing where it goes, it means a lot… but it also means that from here on out unless I just quit trying to do anything with it… more and more “strangers” will be peeking into my life. I’ve already had a brush with an online stalker since starting the site but we won’t go there… I wanted this to be about not having time for things and I’ve gotten a bit off track.

Between working like a slave at my 8 to 5 Monday – Friday, and doing things for my family as well as my recent increase of involvement at my church with the Media Team and other things here and there… I’m swamped. So when you stack on trying to run your own tech blog solo, it gets super challenging! I believe in myself don’t get me wrong, I enjoy writing about tech and I LOVE making the YouTube videos… there’s a part of me that wants to get into doing those more because for whatever reason people don’t seem to hate watching me talk about… “whatever” 🙂 and I’ve recently been presented with another opportunity to make additional income doing even more writing and a few other things… so my schedule is jam packed.

I used 4 vacation days in addition to my usual weekends off a couple weeks ago to attend the Big Android BBQ in Hurst, TX and lets just say even though I had 2 full days to myself after I got back home… it wasn’t even remotely close to enough. I barely got any rest because I had too many other things to do between shipping off things I’d sold to people to make ends meet and networking with people about other opportunities I all but wanted to scream… and those were only a few of the things I had to do over the course of those two days… sigh.

As for the actual BBQ? I didn’t feel like I had enough time with that either lol! It was an amazing experience that didn’t last long enough. I got to meet up and hang with old and new friends/acquaintances and I had a great time… I’m already ready for next years event.

In regards to my issue with time, I’m going to try to actually get some rest & relaxation this weekend and not go anywhere or do much of anything. I may try to post a few things to my tech blog but aside from that… I’m chillin’ I deserve some time to breathe.

That’s been my problem for the last 5 years or so. Time is my most valuable currency right now. But as long as you make the time to have fun every once in a while, that’s what matters.

And sorry but I had to Lol when you were like, “I work like a slave, 8 to 5″… only because I’m rockin around 50 to 60 hours a week. But I know what you mean though.
